Cameroon’s emblematic footballer, roving ambassador and honorary President of Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, Roger Milla, slammed the doors of the last executive meeting of the FA, held in Yaoundé recently.
This happened after FA President Iya Mohammed refused to tender a public apology to Milla, who insisted FECAFOOT’s President owed him an apology after the letter he (Iya) wrote against him (Milla) prior to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, when Milla accused Samuel Fils Eto’o of not giving as much to the national team as he did with his various professional clubs in Europe.
Milla postulated that Eto’o was underperforming while with the Indomitable Lions, both on and off the pitch. FECAFOOT then reacted, after the sports minister, Michel Zoah, in a letter giving unflinching support to Samuel Eto’o and Paul Marie le Guen, then coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
“It’s my right as Honorary President to ask for an apology after what was published in the media. Iya should have consulted the executive committee before writing that. Why didn’t he call me to find out exactly what I meant?” Milla told journalists in Yaounde.
The poorest performance of Cameroon in six World Cup appearances appeared to vindicate the old Lion and his pre-World Cup outburst.
He said: “I will give them a few days. If nothing is done I will leave them with their FECAFOOT.” Milla added that even if he confirms his resignation, he will still serve his country with all his heart. “I will not abandon Cameroon’s football because some fellows are goofing.”
Milla was appointed as Honorary President of Fécafoot in March 2008, at the peak of the conflict between the erstwhile sports minister, Thierry Augustin Edjoa and the FA. Until the recent Executive Committee of FECAFOOT, Milla was known to always back the FA.

MANAJEMEN PSM terus melengkapi skuad asingnya.
Makanya perlu diteliti,” kata Manajer PSM, Hendra Sirajuddin. Rabu, 18 Agustus.

Manajemen PSM kini tak lagi kesulitan memburu pemain asing. Pasalnya, lima orang yang direkomendasikan pelatih kepala Robert Rene Alberts berada di bawah naungan satu agen, Mutiara Hitam Sports milik Onana
Jules.
Winothai (striker/Thailand).
Manajemen, kata Hendra, hanya kebagian negosiasi harga.
Tapi kan nanti teken kontrak lalu dikatakan pasti,” katanya.

At last ROBERT RENE ALBERTS has made his mind to be the new PSM MAKASSAR coach for the new ISL season.
He will lead his new team in the new IIC whom will be held in MALANG from 27 August 2010…what a come back to the Theater of glory with the opposite side…
Football is amazing. We love it.
Good luck.

PSM Makassar lambat laun memenuhi kuota amunisi mereka untuk musim 2010/2011. Kemarin seorang legiun asing resmi gabung.

He may not be a global household name but, in football-mad Indonesia, striker Bambang Pamungkas is the sport’s undisputed national pin-up. Asia’s third-most populace nation have no shortage of passionate supporters, and it is the prolific Bambang whose name is most revered among the hordes in Jakarta’s imposing Gelora Bung Karno stadium whenever the Merah Putih (Red and White) take the field.
It has been that way ever since the lithe forward, who hails from the humble central Java city of Salatiga, debuted as a 19-year-old over a decade ago. With well over 30 international goals to his name at a rate of better than a goal every other game, not to mention a century of strikes in the country’s domestic competition, the mobile Bambang has earned his status as a national hero. With stints in both Malaysia and the Netherlands under his belt, Bambang could also have been starring in the Australian A-League this season but for the falling through of a recent proposed move to Wellington Phoenix.
The 31-year-old has now set his sights on an international swansong at the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil. Such an achievement would be quite a coup for a nation who recently took their first steps on the road to Brazil, with a squad named by new coach Alfred Riedl. Of the 22 players named for the camp, only six had previously played for the Merah Putih, with the talismanic Bambang among that list of ‘veterans’.
Indonesia’s first test will be December’s AFF Suzuki Cup, where south-east Asian supremacy will be on the line. Indonesia will co-host the tournament with Vietnam, allowing the Merah Putih the chance to secure a crown they have surprisingly failed to collect in seven previous attempts. Nevertheless, it is a competition that provided Bambang with his first taste of international stardom, with his eight goals sufficient to collect the top goalscorers crown in 2002 – partial consolation after the Indonesians lost the final on penalties in Jakarta.
This December’s tournament would have been a perfect lead-in for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, but Indonesia narrowly failed to qualify after being drawn in a tough group alongside Australia, Kuwait and Oman. “This is the first time we will miss out on the Asian Cup which is a big disappointment for the players, fans and the country,” Bambang told FIFA.com. “With new players and coach we have to do more for the World Cup qualification (than we did for the Asian Cup).”
Football has long been entrenched in the national psyche, with Indonesia the first Asian nation to appear at a FIFA World Cup, having appeared under their pre-independence title of the Dutch East Indies in 1938. Bambang believes that his nation, whose football fans he describes as “very fanatical”, is a sleeping giant waiting to be roused. “We have many young talents here,” he says. “Now we need to find the formula to bring the young players through to senior level so that in the next five or ten years they will become stars for the country. For me, our young players are excellent.”
Bambang spends some of his downtime doing charity, working and promoting the Bambang Pamungkas Foundation, which he set up to provide financial assistance and resources to schools in Indonesia. The striker, who says he aspires to be a teacher or chef after hanging up his boots, is also involved in raising funds for children’s cancer charities. Combine such benevolence with a humble nature, not too mention a prolific goal return, and it is little wonder that Bambang is a hero to millions.

 Alfred Riedl
Since his appointment as Indonesia coach in May, Austrian Alfred Riedl has embarked on his development plan with the most populous nation in south-east Asia. A football manager of over 20 years, he has spent the most recent part of his coaching career with a number of teams across Asia, including the likes of Palestine, Vietnam and Laos, with Indonesia his fourth Asian national team role.
The former Austria coach may not been renowned for great success with big teams, but his contribution in helping lift the game in these so-called football developing nations cannot be understated. He shared with FIFA.com his views on how the smaller nations of Planet Football can improve their game.
FIFA.com: Coach Riedl, you were appointed Indonesia coach in May. What do you think of this new job, your sixth at the national level?
Alfred Riedl: I signed a two-year contract with Indonesia in early May this year and this new job should be my biggest challenge so far. In a country with a population of 260 million the expectations are understandably very high.
What goals have you set for Indonesia?
I am in charge of both the country’s senior national team and the Under-23 side so my responsibilities are to lift the football level in general in Indonesia. Of course, the first tests facing me are December’s ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship and the SEA Games, where I hope we can reach the final in both competitions. Next year, there are a series of qualifying campaigns for the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament, FIFA World Cup and perhaps the Asian Cup.
So, in a sense, you are responsible for building a team for the future?
The junior sides represent the future and although I am not tasked with other age group levels, other than the Under-23, I am ready to help should the need arise. Certainly, I should first be committed to my senior and Olympic tasks.
What are the positive things and what are the difficulties you face in coaching Indonesia?
I boast a highly qualified staff which includes my assistant, Wolfgang Pikal, a fellow Austrian from Vienna who has lived in Indonesia for over 20 years. His knowledge about the local football is immense and he speaks the local language perfectly. One thing I am concerning about is the policy which allows each club in the Indonesian Super League to have five imported players, which means the key positions may be occupied by foreigners.
What has been the highlight of your coaching career so far?
When I coached Palestine years ago, we obtained some excellent results in the early stages of qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. I was very happy that we brought a smile back on the faces of the suffering people.
You have had three spells with Vietnam which lasted five years altogether. What progress has this country made since you took over the reins for the first time in 1998?
During my first training session with the national team the players were dressed in jerseys of different types and colours. I told the authorities I was not coaching a street football team and the next day we were well equipped. Such is the pace that the Vietnamese people want for football development and, indeed, they have made fast progress these years. The attention is ever-growing with more companies investing in the game. The fervent fans are hoping for the fastest success but the federation has showed patience, keeping me in the coaching position for many years, during which time we achieved some good results.
How long will it take for these nations to make a real impact on the international stage, for instance, to qualify for the FIFA World Cup?
This is hard to answer, but it might need decades. On top of all these nations must improve their infrastructures for football. Laos have eight football teams and even in football-mad Vietnam, there are only 50 clubs, a number which pales into insignificance compared with my country, Austria, which possesses 2,100 clubs. A group of qualified coaches and a long-term scheme are also needed if they are to catch up with the rest of the world.
Looking back at the past decade with these progressive sides, how do you reflect on your contribution in their development?
Ten years was not a short period. I have travelled a lot across Asia, where I have tried to adapt myself to the different cultures and environments. I am committed to my job and no matter what difficulties I face, I do my utmost to carry forward.
